Mechanical Workshop

In the area for assembly and mechanical processing, test setups and test bodies are manufactured and assembled from metallic and non-metallic materials/semi-finished products required for carrying out the tests on the basis of technical drawings. Due to the direct connection of this area to the test field, the individual test setups can be manufactured and assembled with high precision.

Furthermore, the mechanical workshop trains the profession of industrial mechanic within the scope of the training regulations and supports the scientific staff and students in the implementation of their ideas.

Manufacturing Capabilities

The possibility of processing the semi-finished products includes cutting, joining and forming. Cutting manufacturing processes such as milling, turning, drilling and sawing are regularly used. In the case of larger superstructures, the manufactured workpieces are welded together to form structures and bolted together on the test field.
