The importance of the institute for the research activity of the faculty can be proven by the increasing third-party funding income in the field of experimental research. In addition, the institute is a training center for principles and methods of experimental research for all scientific staff involved.

With the active participation of students in experimental research projects, this effect is also transferred to the next generation of scientists already during their studies. The teaching methods are also effectively expanded with targeted demonstration experiments as part of the teaching.
